Hundreds of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State have defected to the Accord Party, marking a significant shift in the political landscape of the area.

The defectors, led by Hon. Ifasanjo Soladoye, Director-General of the Eniade Campaign Organisation, alongside three former APC councillors, were formally received by the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun.

Speaking during the event on Tuesday, Egbedun commended the defectors for their decision and attributed the growing support for the Accord Party to the developmental efforts of the state governor, Ademola Adeleke.

The Speaker said residents of Odo-Otin would remain grateful for what he described as unprecedented development brought to the local government under Adeleke’s administration.

“Odo-Otin will never be ungrateful to Governor Ademola Adeleke for the unprecedented development his administration has brought to our local government,” he said.

Egbedun noted that the mass defection reflected increasing confidence in the governor’s leadership and the visible changes taking place across the state.

“Our people have witnessed genuine commitment to development in Odo-Otin, and it is only natural for them to show appreciation and support,” he added.

He assured the new members of full integration into the Accord Party structure, stressing that the expanding support base would further strengthen efforts toward sustainable development in the local government and the state.

Dignitaries present at the event included the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Hon. Rasheed Aderibigbe, the Chairman of Odo-Otin Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adeyinka, members of his cabinet, party leaders including Alhaji KK, and other party officials.
