After keeping journalists, members and observers waiting for six hours, the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) announced postponement of its election earlier scheduled to hold in Osun State.

The election was to hold at the premises of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Osogbo at 10am on Saturday.

The abrupt postponement was contained in a statement issued by the IPAC National Organising Secretary, Chinyere Kalu, and obtained sent this evening.

Kalu stated that a new date for the election would be communicated to stakeholders in due course.

She added that the electoral committee regretted any inconvenience the postponement might cause and appealed for the understanding and cooperation of political parties and other stakeholders.

The IPAC did not give reason for abrupt postponement despite being in Osogbo since Friday.

Sources told InsightMedia that a prefered candidate of the government in Osun was going to lose if the election had gone ahead.

It was gathered that the incumbent chairman, Pastor Victor Akande of the Accord Party was to compete against the Dr Tosin Odeyemi of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
