Veteran Nollywood actress Joke Silva has opened up about one of the perks of being married to an older man.
The 64-year-old star made the revelation during her recent appearance on TVC’s program Your View. Silva has been married to fellow actor Olu Jacob, who is 20 years her senior, since 1985.
Reflecting on their love story, Silva shared that older men often give women more leeway in relationships. She recounted, “Yes, we met on stage, and when we met on a movie set, everybody knew it was the great Olu Jacob who was coming except me. When he arrived, we got along very well, and it was only after we started dating that I discovered his age because he looked so good. For him, it was love at first sight, but for me, it wasn’t. Older men allow you to get away with a lot of things.”
Olu Jacob, a Nollywood veteran, was 44 when they married, while Silva was 24. The couple’s marriage has been blessed with two children and continues to be one of Nollywood’s most enduring unions.
