Operatives of the Anti-cultism unit of the Osun State Police Command have arrested one Amokeaja Basit, a wanted notorious cult leader in Ijesa axis of the state.
Sources within the police confirmed arrest of Basit to InsightMedia on Tuesday morning.
He was arrested on Monday night following a clash between some members of Accord and the All Progressives Congress in Ilesa on Monday.
It was learnt that Basit and his gang launched attack on some political leaders in the area on Monday, leading to damage of vehicles in injuries to some individuals.
Sources within the police also revealed that four other members of the gang were arrested.
They are Olatunde Segun, Adeyeye Suji, Babatunde Lekan and Olayinka Laide.
“Investigation is ongoing to arrest other fleeing members of the gang,” the source said.
