Arne Slot has insisted he still enjoys the full backing of Liverpool FC’s owners, despite growing pressure following the team’s recent dip in form.
Liverpool’s inconsistent performances in recent weeks have raised concerns among fans and analysts, especially after a heavy FA Cup defeat to Manchester City and a disappointing loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League.
Speaking after the defeat in Paris, Slot maintained that the club’s leadership remains firmly behind him. He described the support from the owners and senior figures within the club as “complete,” even during what he admitted is a difficult period.
The Dutch manager also praised Liverpool supporters for standing by the team, noting that fans have continued to show encouragement despite poor results.
According to Slot, this unity between players, coaching staff, and supporters will be key to turning things around as the season progresses.
However, the pressure remains intense. A string of underwhelming results has affected Liverpool’s position in the league and cast doubt over their chances in Europe.
Slot himself acknowledged that some performances have lacked the required intensity, further fueling concerns about the team’s consistency and mentality.
Amid the struggles, speculation has emerged over a possible managerial change, with Xabi Alonso among the names linked to the job.
For now, though, Liverpool’s hierarchy appears willing to be patient, giving Slot time to steady the team and improve performances.
Looking ahead, Slot described the current phase of the season as “defining,” starting with their upcoming league clash against Fulham. He added that the recent defeat in Europe should serve as motivation for the team to raise their level and compete more effectively moving forward.
“We know we have to improve, and we have the chance to show that in the coming games,” Slot said, expressing determination to guide Liverpool back on track.
