The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the schedule for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II orientation course, with activities set to begin nationwide on April 22.

In a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the scheme said the 21-day orientation programme would take place simultaneously in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

According to the statement, the orientation course will commence with the reception and registration of prospective corps members on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, and end at midnight on Friday, April 24, 2026.

The scheme added that prospective corps members mobilised for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II service year would be sworn in on Friday, April 24, 2026. The orientation exercise is expected to conclude on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

NYSC also urged prospective corps members to prioritise their safety while travelling to their respective orientation camps across the country.

It advised them to avoid night journeys, noting that travellers should break their trips by 6 p.m. and spend the night at designated safe locations such as corps members’ lodges, military formations, police stations or outposts, or the palace of a traditional ruler before continuing their journey the following morning.

The scheme wished prospective corps members safe travels to their orientation camps nationwide.

The announcement comes after an earlier update by NYSC that supplementary online registration for recently uploaded prospective corps members will take place from April 9 to April 11, 2026.

According to the scheme, the registration is meant for candidates whose details were recently uploaded to its portal but who have yet to complete their online registration.

“Supplementary online registration for recently uploaded prospective corps members commences Thursday, April 9 to Saturday, April 11, 2026,” the scheme said in a post on its X account.

Prospective corps members were also advised to prepare all necessary documents and personal information ahead of the registration to ensure a smooth process.
