The Board Chairman of the Osun State Water Corporation, Hon. Samuel Olayinka Oyedotun, popularly known as Sam Oyus, has stepped down from his role to pursue a senatorial ambition in Osun East.

In a resignation letter dated March 26, 2026, and addressed to the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, Oyedotun expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve, describing his time in office as both rewarding and fulfilling.

The letter, submitted through the Secretary to the State Government, highlighted key achievements recorded during his tenure, particularly efforts to improve access to potable water across the state. He credited these strides to the governor’s leadership and continued support for the sector.

Explaining his decision, Oyedotun said he was stepping down to answer what he described as a “greater call to service,” as he now aims to represent Osun East Senatorial District at the National Assembly. He noted that his ambition is rooted in a desire to expand his contribution to public service and drive broader development.

He also thanked members of the board, management, and staff of the corporation for their cooperation and commitment, noting that their collective efforts strengthened the agency’s service delivery.

While reaffirming his loyalty to the Adeleke administration, Oyedotun assured that his political aspiration aligns with the state’s development agenda, pledging to continue serving the people with dedication if given the mandate.
