Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has approved a ₦20,000 Eid-el-Kabir package for civil servants across the state and the 44 local government areas as part of efforts to support workers ahead of the Sallah celebration.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by Musa Tanko-Muhammad, Press Secretary to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
According to the statement, the financial support is intended to ease the burden on workers during the festive period, especially amid the current economic challenges facing many families.
The gesture comes shortly after the state government completed the payment of May salaries to workers in both the state and local government service.
The statement explained that the ₦20,000 package would benefit civil servants on Grade Levels 01 to 14 working in ministries, departments, agencies, and local government councils across the state.
Governor Yusuf said the initiative reflects his administration’s commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of workers, whom he described as the driving force of the public service sector in Kano.
He noted that the decision was influenced by the economic realities in the country and the financial responsibilities that often come with festive celebrations.
According to the governor, the support is expected to help workers and their families celebrate Eid-el-Kabir with greater comfort and renewed hope.
Yusuf also reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to implementing policies that improve workers’ welfare, enhance productivity, and strengthen the efficiency of the state’s public service.
He further extended Eid-el-Kabir greetings to civil servants and residents of Kano State, praying for peace, unity, and prosperity in the state and across the country.
