Popular comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Aderombi Adedayo Martins, widely known as DeeOne, has emerged as the House of Assembly candidate for Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I ahead of the 2027 general elections.
DeeOne clinched the ticket of the BOOT Party after winning the party’s primary election, paving the way for his bid to represent the constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The entertainer, who has built a reputation in Nigeria’s comedy and entertainment industry since his appearance on the reality television show, announced the development on his Instagram page on Wednesday night.
Reacting to his victory, DeeOne expressed gratitude to members of the BOOT Party for entrusting him with the ticket and pledged to prioritise service if elected in 2027.
He thanked party members for their confidence in his leadership and support throughout the primary election process.
Addressing residents of Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I, the comedian promised a people-centred style of representation, stressing that he would see himself as a servant of the people rather than a political boss.
“I want to thank my party, BOOT Party, for the confidence reposed in me by voting me as the winner of the primary election for Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I,” he wrote.
“To the people of Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I, come 2027, by the grace of God, I will be your worker and not your boss.”
His emergence adds to the growing number of entertainers and public figures seeking elective positions as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.
