Prominent human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), and his son, popular Nigerian rapper and activist, Folarin Falana, better known as Falz, joined protesters in Lagos on Friday during the ongoing EndBadGovernance demonstration.
The protest, held at the Ikeja Underbridge area of the state, drew citizens expressing concern over worsening economic conditions and rising insecurity across the country.
Participants carried placards and banners demanding urgent government intervention to address what they described as growing hardship and persistent security challenges affecting Nigerians.
Messages displayed during the protest included: “No Democracy Without Security,” “End Insecurity and Kidnapping,” “End Bad Governance,” and “Free All Abducted Children, Teachers and Farmers.”
The demonstrators said the protest was aimed at drawing attention to the impact of insecurity and economic difficulties on everyday life, insisting that stronger and more effective responses were needed from authorities.
The gathering came shortly after President Bola Tinubu addressed the nation as part of the 2026 Democracy Day celebration, where he assured Nigerians that his administration remained committed to tackling insecurity and restoring stability.
The President also expressed confidence that the country would overcome its security challenges as efforts continue to strengthen national safety and governance.
