Nafisat, the wife of Nollywood actor Akin Olaiya, has publicly addressed the crisis in their marriage, revealing what she described as the major reason behind her decision to leave their matrimonial home.
The development comes days after reports emerged about challenges in the couple’s relationship less than a year after their wedding.
Akin Olaiya and Nafisat got married in July 2025, years after the actor’s previous marriage ended. Speculation about a separation had circulated online in recent months before the actor released a statement on June 22, 2026, confirming that his wife had moved out.
In the statement, Olaiya maintained that there was no conflict between them and claimed efforts made to persuade her to return had not been successful.
However, responding in a video shared on social media, Nafisat presented a different account of events.
She alleged that she left the marriage after discovering that the actor was involved romantically with her close friend, who also served as her chief bridesmaid during their wedding ceremony.
Expressing disappointment over the situation, she suggested that her decision to remain silent initially was influenced by personal values and upbringing.
According to her, she had endured emotional pain and difficult experiences before eventually deciding to speak publicly.
Her comments have since generated reactions online, with many social media users expressing mixed opinions over the allegations and the breakdown of the marriage.
