The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, has announced the passing of his mother Alhaja Sidikat Basiru Suuru Odofin.
Basiru disclosed the sad development in a Facebook post published in the early hours of Sunday, expressing gratitude to Allah for her life and reflecting on her sacrifices and devotion.
Mourning the loss, the APC chieftain described his late mother as a woman whose love, care and commitment helped shape the lives of her children.
“Alhamdulilah for a life well spent in devotion to Allah and service to humanity,” Basiru wrote.
He added, “I will always remember your love and the sacrifice to enable us be who Allah destined us to be.”
Accepting the loss with faith and submission to divine will, Basiru noted that although he would miss her deeply, he remained comforted by Islamic teachings on life and death.
“I love you Maami but I accept that we belong to Allah and to Him we shall all return someday,” he stated.
He also offered prayers for the repose of her soul, saying, “May Allah forgive you and grant you Aljanna Firdaus.”
The announcement has drawn condolences from associates, political allies and supporters who have continued to send messages of sympathy to the former Osun State Commissioner for Justice and his family.
