Police attached to the Anti-Cultism Unit of the Osun State Command have been seen in a video beating and harassing residents of the state over land dispute.
According to a video sighted by InsightMedia on Wednesday morning, the officers led by the Officer-in-Charge, CSP Lukman Afolabi popularly known as Eluku at a land located along Ikirun Road, Osogbo, beating some workers on the land and later forced them into their Buffalo van.
What really happened
According to court documents obtained by InsightMedia, one Mrs Mistura Busari and others who are laying claims to the land were earlier granted right of ownership by Justice Oyebiyi of Osun State High Court but the ruling has been quashed by Justice Oke who only ordered withdrawal of the right of possession and ordered trial of the suit.
The judgment reads, “The application under consideration is dated and filed on the 20th May 2025 for setting aside order of possession granted to the Applicant by My Lord Hon. Justice A. O. Oyebiyi, on 20th day of February, 2025.
The Applicant Rerspondent Mr Aiabi Lekan, Esq filed a 24-paragraph Counter Affidavit dated and filed on 3rd of June, 2025. The Respondent/Respondent herein were affected by the said pessession order granted.
It is hereby ordered that the Applicant/Respondent Mistura Busari is hereby restrained from further execution of the land under consideration, and the execution earlier carried out is hereby set-aside, Mr. Lekan Alabi Esq. proemised to abide with this order, pending the determination of the substantive case before My Lord A. O. Oyebiyi Judge”.

Despite shown the latest court documents, Afolabi and his team stormed the site last weekend to beat and arrest the workers the site.
This came days after he allegedly told parties in the suit that police officers have been banned by the Inspector-General of Police to stay clear of land dispute.
Efforts yo get police reaction to the videos failed as the public relations officer of Osun Command, Abiodun Ojelabi promised to get back to us on the matter. A promise not fulfilled two days after.
