Veteran Nollywood actor, Abdulsalam Taofeeq, popularly known as Tioruju Mondusi, has recounted what he described as the most heartbreaking experience of his life, revealing that two of the five children he raised were not biologically his.
The actor made the emotional disclosure during a recent appearance on the African A-List podcast, where he spoke candidly about the collapse of his marriage and the painful events that followed.
According to Mondusi, the incident remains the deepest wound he has ever experienced, despite having forgiven his late wife.
“The person who hurt me the most in life was my wife,” he said. “The experience brought tears to my eyes. She is late now, and I pray God forgives her.”
The actor recalled that about five years ago, he returned home from a film location only to discover that his wife, who was heavily pregnant with their fifth child, had disappeared. Efforts to reach her proved unsuccessful for two days.
When he eventually got through to her, she reportedly refused to disclose her whereabouts. Concerned, he visited her mother’s residence, where he was shocked to learn that she had allegedly undergone a traditional introduction ceremony with another man.
Mondusi said he discovered photographs from the ceremony, prompting him to confront her. According to him, the situation escalated when she allegedly questioned whether he was truly the father of the child she was carrying.
“She came back home and asked me who told me I owned the pregnancy,” he recounted.
The actor said matters worsened after she gave birth and requested that the child’s naming ceremony be held at his residence despite publicly claiming that the baby was not his.
Angered by the development, Mondusi said he involved law enforcement and refused to allow the ceremony to take place at his compound.
The dispute eventually moved to court after his wife filed for the dissolution of their marriage.
According to the actor, it was during the court proceedings that she admitted that not only the newborn child but also their third child were fathered by another man.
“She confessed in court that the third and the last child were not mine,” he said, adding that she had allegedly maintained a long-term relationship with the man involved.
Mondusi further revealed that his former wife passed away last year after battling depression. He claimed that the man she left him for later distanced himself from her and returned to his own family.
The veteran actor’s revelation has since sparked conversations on social media, with many expressing sympathy over the emotional toll of the experience and the complexities surrounding broken relationships and paternity disputes.
