Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has taken another swipe at the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, amid the lingering controversy over the union’s operations in Osun State.
The latest exchange follows the Osun State Government’s decision to suspend the activities of the NURTW across the state ahead of the August 15 governorship election, citing the need to curb violence, restore order in motor parks and end the illegal collection of levies.
The ban came after months of heightened tension surrounding the control of parks and garages in the state, with the government insisting that the measure was necessary to safeguard public peace during the election period.
However, MC Oluomo rejected the directive, arguing that the Osun State Government lacked the authority to suspend the activities of the national transport union.
The controversy deepened after MC Oluomo recently inaugurated Asiri Eniba as the leader of the NURTW in Osun State, a move that further fuelled political debate and drew mixed reactions from stakeholders.
Davido, who has been actively campaigning for the re-election of his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, reacted to the development with a series of social media posts aimed at the NURTW president.
In an earlier post on X, the singer mocked MC Oluomo, writing: “MC Oluomo wey no fit compose sentence dey talk… Kudosuuuu.”
The post generated widespread reactions online, with many social media users debating the comments and the ongoing political tension in the state.
Davido later returned with another message on his Instagram Story, where he questioned MC Oluomo’s alleged involvement in the unfolding political situation in Osun.
Tagging the NURTW president directly, the singer wrote: “@kingmcoluomo dem say u dey game. I doubt lol look ur mirror.”
The phrase has since sparked fresh conversations on social media, with supporters of both political camps interpreting the comment differently.
Insightlinks gathered that Davido was appointed the Youth Campaign Leader for Governor Adeleke’s re-election bid in April and has remained one of the administration’s most vocal supporters ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.
