The wife of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola, alongside the Chairperson of the Federal Character Commission, Mrs. Ayo Omidiran, on Saturday led members of the Akoni Obinrin Movement on a victory walk through major streets of Osogbo to mobilise support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

The rally, which attracted hundreds of women supporters, moved through major parts of the state capital before ending at the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Office in the Ogo-Oluwa area of Osogbo.

Speaking with journalists after the event, Mrs. Oyetola said the women-led movement had established coordinators across all 3,763 polling units in Osun State to intensify grassroots mobilisation and voter education ahead of the poll.

According to her, the group’s primary objective is to embark on door-to-door campaigns, educate residents on the voting process and ensure that votes cast for the APC are valid and counted on election day.

She described Oyebamiji as an experienced administrator with a proven record in both the public and private sectors, expressing confidence in his capacity to provide purposeful leadership and accelerate development across the state.

Mrs. Oyetola also urged women across Osun to remain committed to the campaign, mobilise eligible voters in their communities and participate actively in the governorship election.

Addressing the supporters, Oyebamiji commended members of the Akoni Obinrin Movement for their commitment to the party, describing the turnout as a demonstration of the APC’s growing acceptance across the state.

The APC governorship candidate declared the procession a “Victory Walk” and encouraged the women to sustain the momentum through continuous grassroots mobilisation until election day.

He further appealed to residents to vote massively for the APC on August 15, assuring them that his administration would prioritise good governance, restore development and improve the welfare of the people if elected governor of Osun State.
