The Ilobu Asake Development Union (IDU) has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election as Governor of Osun State, describing the victory as an affirmation of the people’s confidence in his leadership.

In a statement signed by its National President, Prof. Olufemi Saibu, on Sunday, the union said Adeleke’s victory was not only a personal achievement but also a reflection of the electorate’s decision to entrust him with another four-year mandate.

The IDU commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, security agencies and other stakeholders involved in the August 15 governorship election for their roles in the electoral process.

The union also praised the people of Osun, particularly residents of Ilobu, for maintaining peace and restraint before and during the election.

According to the group, the peaceful conduct of the election demonstrated that political differences could be managed without undermining the unity and development of the state.

The IDU, however, urged Adeleke to use his second term to intensify development across Osun, particularly in areas that directly affect the lives of residents.

It called for improved roads, functional healthcare facilities, quality education, reliable water supply, youth empowerment and policies capable of attracting investment to the state.

“Ilobu, like every community in this state, looks forward to being carried along in the developmental strides of the next four years,” the union said.

The group also appealed to all the candidates who contested the election and their supporters to put political differences aside and work together for the progress of Osun State.

It stressed that the conclusion of the election should mark the beginning of a new phase of cooperation, noting that political contests should not create lasting divisions among the people.

“An election is a contest of ideas and mandates, not of enmity. We urge every son and daughter of Osun, regardless of political persuasion, to now unite behind the task of building our state,” the statement added.

The IDU congratulated Adeleke on his victory and wished him wisdom and strength as he begins his second term.

The union also pledged its continued support and cooperation with the administration in efforts aimed at advancing the development of Ilobu and Osun State.
