The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has announced an extension of the deadline for candidates who have outstanding admission offers dating back to 2021.
According to the Board, the deadline, which was earlier set for August 31, 2026, has now been extended to Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
The extension is to give affected candidates more time to either accept or reject their outstanding admission offers, JAMB stated.
The candidates who accept their admission offers will be able to print their admission letters, while those who reject the offers will have their JAMB dashboards reverted to “Not Admitted.”The Board explained .
JAMB further clarified that candidates who have already secured admission during the 2026 admission exercise but still have an earlier admission offer pending can reject the previous offer without affecting their new admission.
The Board also said candidates who are currently studying in another institution or a different programme can accept the outstanding offer and later apply for the appropriate correction or deletion, where necessary.
However, JAMB warned that September 30, 2026, is the final deadline. According to the Board, any outstanding admission offer that remains neither accepted nor rejected after the deadline will automatically be reverted to “Not Admitted.”
JAMB therefore urged all affected candidates to check their admission status and take the necessary action before the deadline
