The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke has declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of 2027, promising to mobilise support for the President’s return to Aso Rock while entertaining guests with his trademark dance moves at the inauguration of the presidential campaign council.
Adeleke made the declaration on Wednesday during the inauguration of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu/APC Presidential Campaign Council, where he urged Nigerians to rally behind the President and pray for the success of his administration.
The governor, who belongs to the Accord Party, expressed confidence in Tinubu’s bid for a second term, saying he was ready to support the President’s campaign ahead of the 2027 general election.
“I am the light, and the light is here. We will sing and dance back to Aso Rock after President Bola Tinubu’s re-election,” Adeleke said.
He called on Nigerians to support Tinubu, urging them to set aside differences and work towards the President’s return to office.
“I am here to throw my weight behind Tinubu’s return to Aso Rock. Let us rise from every nook and corner to support the President. Let him come and complete the good work he has begun,” he added.
Adeleke also urged Nigerians to continue praying for the President, saying the success of his administration would benefit the country.
“I want you to continue to pray for Mr President because if he succeeds, we all succeed. I know we will get there,” he said.
Shortly after his address, the governor joined Tinubu in dancing, drawing cheers from attendees and adding a lively moment to the event.
Adeleke’s appearance followed his inclusion in the revised presidential campaign council as the coordinator for Tinubu’s campaign in Osun State, despite belonging to the Accord Party rather than the ruling APC.
Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), was also named as the campaign coordinator for his state.
Similarly, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike was assigned responsibility for coordinating campaign activities in Rivers State and the FCT.
The inclusion of governors and political figures from outside the APC reflects efforts to build a broader coalition around Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 polls.
