The Nigerian Automobile Technicians Association (NATA), Obokun Chapter, has endorsed the Accord Party candidate for the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The association announced its endorsement on Thursday during a familiarisation meeting with the Pelumi Olajengbesi Campaign Organisation (POCO) in Ibokun, Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State.
The endorsement, according to the association’s chairman, Comrade Adebayo Adeyinka, was informed by Olajengbesi’s reported support for artisans, women and young people facing economic difficulties.
Adeyinka said members of the association across Obokun had resolved to mobilise their colleagues, families and customers to support the Accord Party candidate in the forthcoming elections.
“We have listened to many politicians, but Pelumi Olajengbesi is different. He has shared with us his manifesto, and we need someone like him for the sake of our children and younger generations. He understands the pain of artisans,” he said.
The NATA chairman added that he had witnessed Olajengbesi’s assistance to artisans over time, expressing confidence in the candidate’s ability to deliver on his promises if elected.
Adeyinka further disclosed that Olajengbesi had pledged to facilitate federal empowerment programmes, provide tools and support skills training for automobile technicians and other artisans.
“He has promised to facilitate federal empowerment programmes, tools support and training for automobile technicians and other artisans. We believe him. That is why NATA, Obokun Chapter, is endorsing him fully,” he added.
Responding, Olajengbesi thanked the association for its confidence in his candidacy, describing artisans as essential contributors to the local economy and the livelihoods of many families.
He said automobile technicians and other skilled workers would be important stakeholders in his proposed development agenda, promising to prioritise their welfare and economic advancement if elected.
“I am humbled by this endorsement. NATA members are hardworking Nigerians who sustain families and train our young people. You fix our vehicles, you build skills, you keep the economy moving,” Olajengbesi said.
The candidate stated that his manifesto included plans to attract federal skills acquisition centres, provide modern tools grants and pursue low-interest financial support for workshops across the Oriade and Obokun areas.

He assured the association that his proposed representation would recognise informal-sector workers and create opportunities for artisans to improve their skills, expand their businesses and train more young people.
“No artisan will be left behind,” he assured.
Olajengbesi also urged NATA members to sustain their mobilisation efforts and encourage residents to participate actively in the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement adds to the candidate’s efforts to build grassroots support among professional and community groups across the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency ahead of the polls.
