Nigerian comedians Ayobami Ajewole, popularly known as Woli Agba, and Olamide Oladimeji, also known as Dele Omo Woli, have threatened legal action against individuals linking them to the death of gospel minister Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings.

Woli Agba disclosed this in a public notice shared on his Instagram page on Sunday.

The notice, issued by their solicitors, Gemgold Solicitors, warned members of the public against publishing or circulating allegations the entertainers described as false and defamatory.

Dated October 23, 2026, the notice described the allegations as baseless and accused those behind them of attempting to damage the comedians’ reputations and expose them to public ridicule.

“Our Clients’ attention has been drawn to certain defamatory publications and online broadcasts containing false, baseless, and malicious allegations against them. These publications appear calculated to tarnish our Clients’ hard-earned reputations, expose them to public ridicule, and incite hostility against them.

“We state categorically that these allegations, particularly those falsely associating our Clients with the demise of Toluwanisings, are entirely false, unsubstantiated, and unfounded,” the notice read.

The solicitors warned that individuals who originate, publish, forward or endorse defamatory content could face legal consequences, including those sharing material from anonymous or untraceable accounts.

“Anyone who originates, publishes, forwards, or endorses defamatory material is equally liable under the law,” the notice stated.

They urged members of the public to refrain from spreading unverified allegations about the entertainers and to remove any defamatory content previously shared on their personal pages, blogs or social media platforms.

The notice added that the comedians reserved their legal rights and would pursue action against individuals and media platforms that continued to circulate the allegations.

“Any individual, blog, media platform, or social media user who continues to publish, re-circulate, or broadcast false and defamatory content against our Clients will face swift legal action, including claims for substantial damages and injunctive relief under applicable civil and criminal laws,” it added.

The solicitors also advised the public to verify information before sharing it, emphasising the importance of responsible communication and respect for individual dignity.

The development comes amid controversy over allegations linking gospel singer Tope Alabi to the death of Toluwanisings and other gospel ministers.

It was earlier reported that Alabi threatened legal action against a Canada-based pastor, identified as Tayo Kumuyi, also known as Pastor Tayo Ministries, over publications allegedly linking her to the deaths.

Alabi’s solicitors, Oakmount Legal Practitioners, issued a cease-and-desist letter dated October 24, 2026, demanding that the publications be removed and that the operators of the Facebook page, Pastor Tayo Ministries, issue a retraction and apology.

The letter, titled “Cease and Desist: Malicious and Defamatory Publications and Threats Against Our Client,” described the demand as final and gave the page operators 24 hours to comply.
