Representatives of about 40 selected communities from Osun State have been presented cheques of various sums by the state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for the implementation of community micro projects.
Speaking at the event where the communities received their cheques, Adeleke, who assured residents of an enabling environment for development efforts to thrive, said the initiative was part of the steps to revamp public utilities and infrastructure within the first 100 days of his administration.
Adeleke, who expressed satisfaction with the implementation of community micro projects in the state, further said, “this development cannot come as a surprise to anybody because since the inception of our administration, I have left no one in doubt as to my commitment towards the giant strive of communities.”
Speaking earlier, the General Manager of Osun State Community and Social Development Agency, Mrs Aderonke Abokede, said the implementation of the micro projects would bring succour to the people and solve fundamental social and community problems.
She said, “over 40 community benefited from these projects and N518 million was shared in varied sum to the communities to implement the projects.”
Speaking on the behalf of the benefiting communities, Mr Samson Adelomo, lauded Adeleke, World Bank and Osun CSDA for making the projects achievable.
