Florentino Perez over the weekend was re-elected as Real Madrid President until 2029 after running for the position unopposed.
Madrid announced the news after a 4-1 thrashing of Las Palmas which helped the Los Blancos move to the top of La Liga.
“There having been only one candidacy… (Perez) is hereby proclaimed president of Real Madrid,” said Los Blancos in a statement.
Perez, 77, has not faced any opposition in four elections (2013, 2017, 2021 and 2025) since returning to the club in 2009 for a second spell at the helm.
The Spanish businessman was first elected as Real Madrid President in 2000, he overseeing the most successful era of the club called “Galactico era”, and voluntary resigned in 2006.
Since his re-election in 2009, the Spanish giant have won five league titles and a remarkable six European cups, among other silverware
