Dora Chichah, the wife of Rev. Fr. Daniel Oghenerukevwe, a Catholic priest suspended after marrying without the necessary ecclesiastical approval, has shared a powerful testimony of faith and divine intervention.
Rev. Oghenerukevwe, from the Catholic Diocese of Warri in Delta State, was suspended following his marriage in Dallas, Texas, in 2024.
The Diocese confirmed that while the priest requested release from his vows, he failed to provide the required documentation before proceeding with his marriage, which led to public scrutiny.
In a live testimony session at Pastor Jerry Eze’s Streams of Joy International Church in Dallas, Dora recounted her nine-year journey of prayer for a life partner and how faith ultimately brought her and Daniel together.
Dora, a mother of three, joined the church in 2020 and had long prayed for a life partner. Her breakthrough came in 2021 when Pastor Jerry prophesied that the Lord had heard her prayers and was guiding her to her “wealthy place.”
By 2024, Dora felt God’s call to move to Dallas, where she reconnected with Daniel, a familiar face from her hometown. Both had been praying for guidance—Daniel for discernment in his priestly vocation, and Dora for a husband.
After just three months of marriage counseling, the couple tied the knot in a traditional wedding, court marriage, and a white wedding at Streams of Joy Church.
Though Dora’s testimony did not address the details of Daniel’s priesthood, a viral photo from their wedding sparked public discussion.
Daniel’s sister, Mary Okanatotor, defended the marriage online, emphasizing that her brother had informed the Diocese of his decision before proceeding.
Despite the controversy, Dora’s story highlights her unwavering faith and trust in God’s timing for her marriage.
