The Senator for Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has demanded that the ongoing Senate probe be broadcast live, stressing that Nigerians deserve to witness the process for transparency.
Akpoti-Uduaghan, who was referred to the Senate’s Ethics and Disciplinary Committee following a disagreement with Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, over seating arrangements, stated that she is prepared to face the panel but will not accept the matter being handled in secrecy.
In a statement shared on her Facebook page, the lawmaker revealed that she had previously refrained from commenting on the issue or other developments in the Senate. However, she felt it was now time to speak out.
She called on Nigerians to follow the proceedings closely, reiterating her commitment to full transparency.
“Good morning, courageous people of Kogi Central, Kogi State, and Nigeria,” she wrote. “This petition came to my attention a few hours ago, and while I had previously avoided commenting on the matter and other developments at the Senate under Senate President Akpabio, I believe it’s time to break my silence.”
She continued, “Arise News, set a date, and I will be there in person. Ask me anything. And to Nigerians, please be sure to join the probe, which I insist will be covered live.”
The Senator expressed that the next few weeks would be pivotal and could set a new standard for leadership in Nigeria.
