The Lagos State Police Command confirmed on Wednesday that they have located the burial site of Adedamola Ogunbode, a Lagos State University (LASU) graduate who had been missing since January 16, 2025.
The arrest of the principal suspect, Olaoluwa Ajisomo, was also confirmed by the police.
Ogunbode, a 28-year-old graduate in political science education, had been the subject of speculation following reports of a mutilated body found.
According to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the State Police Command, the body of Ogunbode will soon be exhumed. Hundeyin clarified that the grave was not found in a church compound as had been suggested on social media, but instead was located near the Lagos State University area.
Earlier this week, Hundeyin had confirmed the arrest of Olaoluwa Ajisomo, the primary suspect in Ogunbode’s murder. Ajisomo was apprehended on Monday in the Alakuko area.
Hundeyin further revealed that Ajisomo was the individual who accessed and cleared Ogunbode’s bank account using the victim’s mobile phone.
