US President Donald Trump announced Monday that he would launch a “major investigation” against his 2024 election foe Kamala Harris over celebrities who supported her unsuccessful presidential campaign.

“Candidates aren’t allowed to pay for ENDORSEMENTS, as Kamala did under the guise of paying for entertainment,” he said on his Truth Social page..

“I am going to call for a major investigation into this matter.”

Harris sought to harness star power from celebrities such as Beyonce and Oprah Winfrey in the election race.

Winfrey defended a $1 million payment to her production company from the Harris campaign to covers costs associated with the talk show legend hosting the presidential candidate.

Harris’s team, meanwhile, denied rumours that she paid pop megastar Beyonce $10 million to appear at a rally.

The Harris campaign listed one endorsement-related expenditure for $75 in its financial reports to an environmental advocacy group.

The entertainment sector as a whole gave Trump little support, but he was able to leverage a certain group of well-known, hypermasculine influencers, such as podcast host Joe Rogan, to win the election handily.

Beyonce, Winfrey, and Bruce Springsteen were all targeted by the president on Monday, who claimed that Harris had paid the iconic rock artist to play at a rally in Georgia only weeks before the election

He wrote, “How much did Bruce Springsteen get paid by Kamala Harris for his subpar performance during her presidential campaign?”

“If he is such a fan of hers, why did he accept that money?” Following Springsteen’s statement to a British concertgoer that his country is run by a “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous administration,” Trump launched a spat with the musician on Truth Social last week.

In return, the 78-year-old Republican said the star, nicknamed “the Boss,” is “Highly Overrated.”

Springsteen is an outspoken liberal critic of Trump and turned out for Harris after she replaced Democratic president Joe Biden in his abandoned reelection bid.
