Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has revealed plans to contest for the Nasarawa North Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections.

The announcement was made by Suleiman Musa Nagogo, Director-General of the State Bureau for Pension Administration, during a meeting with stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Wamba Local Government Area on Tuesday.

Nagogo conveyed the governor’s message, stating, “I am in Wamba with a clear directive from His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Sule, to share an important announcement with the people of my hometown. The governor has expressed his intention to run for the Senate representing Nasarawa North in 2027.”

He further revealed that a committee has been set up by Governor Sule to coordinate the senatorial campaign across the district. “While the committee’s work is still ongoing and yet to reach any major milestones, I felt it necessary to begin this conversation at home in Wamba,” he said.

Highlighting Wamba’s significance in APC politics, Nagogo called on residents to give their full backing to the governor’s senatorial bid. “Wamba is the stronghold of the APC. I expect us to lead the way in supporting the governor. In terms of experience, knowledge, and political understanding of this district, Governor Sule stands out,” he added.

Nagogo emphasized that Governor Sule had made Wamba his political base, and as such, the community should rally around him. “This is our project—the project of the Wamba people,” he stated.

He also praised the governor’s achievements in office, noting progress in infrastructure, agriculture, and solid mineral exploration. “The transformation in Lafia, the capital, speaks for itself. His work in improving agriculture and setting the pace in solid minerals development positions him as a capable leader worthy of representing Nasarawa North in the Senate,” he concluded.
