The Olu of Epe, Oba Shefiu Olatunji Adewale, has died at the age of 86.
The respected monarch passed away early Saturday, May 31, 2025, and will be buried later today according to Islamic rites.
Confirming the news to PUNCH Online, High Chief Musiliu Adeniyi, the Odedeogboro Balogun of Epe, said.
“The news is true. It was this morning. He will be buried at 4 o’clock today.”
Oba Adewale, the 19th Olu of Epe, rose through the ranks as Otun-Balogun and later Balogun of Epe before ascending the throne.
A retired civil servant, he held key roles including Director of Administration in the Ministry of Education and Executive Secretary in the Ministry of Lands.
