For the first in the last two decades, the gate of University of Ilorin was shut today by the protesting members of Non Academic Staff Union of the institution.
The staff got to the gate as early as 7am on Monday, May 6 and locked up the gate to deny students and academic staff entry into the campus.
Some students who tried to force entry had their mobile gadgets broken as the dare devil workers showed unprecedented commitment towards the protest.
However, they opened the gate as at 8:45 and vowed to make it a total blockade on Tuesday should the school authority refuse to grant their request.
