A 28-year-old final-year student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO), Precious Arobo, has reportedly died by suicide in Ondo State.

Arobo, who was in Higher National Diploma (HND) II, was discovered lifeless in a bush close to his home by residents in the area. Sources revealed that he may have left a suicide note before ending his life, although the full details surrounding the incident are yet to be confirmed.

Insiders indicated that the note alluded to emotional struggles, possibly linked to a strained romantic relationship.

Reports further revealed that his grieving family has already conducted his burial. Friends and classmates remembered him as a kind-hearted and cherished individual.

“He has been buried, and the parents were heartbroken over his death,” a source told The Nation.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, SP Ayanlade Olayinka, said an investigation has commenced and assured that the actual cause behind the suicide will be uncovered.

This sorrowful event follows a similar case that occurred less than a year ago, involving Modupe Ayandare, a female student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), who was also said to have taken her life after attending a church vigil.

As with Arobo, she too reportedly left a suicide note before dying in an uncompleted building near the church.
