Former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has declared his readiness to spearhead President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign across the South-West ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ambode made the pledge in Badagry, Lagos, during a sensitization programme on Permanent Voter Card (PVC) registration. He urged residents to register and collect their PVCs to ensure full participation in the polls.
Speaking through the Director-General of the Tinubu-Ambo Support Group, Dr. Seyi Bamigbade, Ambode said President Tinubu had laid a solid foundation for Nigeria’s development and deserved a second term to consolidate on his achievements.
“President Bola Tinubu has demonstrated vision and courage in leadership. I call on Lagosians and Nigerians to support his re-election in 2027 so the nation can continue to enjoy progressive governance,” Ambode stated.
The former governor also restated his intention to seek a return to office in Lagos, promising to build on past accomplishments while addressing new challenges facing the state.
Organisers of the sensitization drive explained that the initiative was designed to mobilise citizens for active participation in the democratic process. “Our message is simple: no PVC, no voting. We are committed to door-to-door mobilisation to ensure every eligible voter registers and collects their card,” Bamigbade said.
The event was attended by community leaders, youth organisations, and other stakeholders who pledged their support for both Tinubu’s re-election and Ambode’s governorship ambition ahead of 2027.
