European football governing body, UEFA, has confirmed that the 2027 UEFA Champions League final will be staged at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid.
This marks the second time Atletico Madrid’s home ground will host Europe’s most prestigious club competition final, the first being in 2019 when Liverpool defeated Tottenham Hotspur.
Madrid edged out Baku, Azerbaijan, which was also in contention to host the showpiece, following a decision made at UEFA’s executive committee meeting in Tirana.
Meanwhile, the 2026 Champions League final is scheduled for Budapest on May 30. UEFA also revealed that Warsaw will stage the 2027 Women’s Champions League final, while Salzburg in Austria has been selected to host next year’s UEFA Super Cup.
