The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that more than 6.2 million Nigerians completed their online pre-registration during the sixth week of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
According to figures released on Monday via INEC’s official X handle and website, a total of 6,232,673 pre-registrants were recorded between September 22 and 28, 2025.
Of the total, 3,250,338 were female (52.15%) and 2,982,335 were male (47.85%). Young people between 18 and 34 years old dominated with 4,230,715 entries, while students contributed 1,565,824. Persons with disabilities accounted for 137,865.
By state breakdown, Borno led with 682,805 pre-registrations, followed by Osun (599,363) and Lagos (555,442). Others in the top bracket include Kebbi (472,662), Ogun (450,897), Kaduna (376,054), and Kogi (298,194).
At the other end of the spectrum, Ondo recorded 14,388, Edo 10,278, Ebonyi 6,935, Abia 5,225, while Enugu posted the lowest nationwide with 5,092.
INEC also revealed that 1,004,132 Nigerians completed both online and physical registrations in Week Five (September 22–26, 2025). Out of this, 537,743 finalised online and 466,389 did so physically.
Demographic analysis showed 555,077 were female (55.28%) and 449,055 male (44.72%). Youths accounted for 742,379, students 354,406, while persons with disabilities numbered 13,987.
Until recently, Osun, Lagos, and Ogun States had dominated CVR figures since the exercise began on August 18, 2025. However, the latest data points to increased mobilisation in the North, particularly Borno and Kebbi, driven by sensitisation campaigns led by community groups, religious leaders, and local officials.
