Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca has confirmed that as many as eight players could miss Saturday’s Premier League clash against Liverpool Stamford Bridge.
The Blues, who are desperate to avoid a third straight league defeat, will head into the fixture without several key squad members.
“Cole is still out. We have Trev [Chalobah] suspended. In total, we could have seven or eight players unavailable for tomorrow’s game,” Maresca told journalists on Friday during the press conference.
Cole Palmer, who has been sidelined since picking up an injury in the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United, remains a major doubt. Asked about his recovery, Maresca said: “I don’t have any update at the moment. We have a meeting this week.”
The setback leaves Chelsea facing a difficult test as they host Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.
