Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor and leader of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, has announced his intention to run for governor of Lagos State in the 2027 elections.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the former PDP candidate said his bid is driven by a commitment to inclusive governance, transparency, and sustainable development.
“This isn’t just about politics—it’s about stewardship. I want a Lagos where innovation, opportunity, and prosperity are available to all,” he said.
Now back in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jandor pledged to abide by the party’s internal democratic process.
“We’ve returned to where we started—the APC. Though I ran under the PDP in 2023, I’m contesting 2027 under the APC and will respect the party’s decision,” he stated.
Jandor criticized the PDP’s structure, blaming it for poor leadership, disregard for internal rules, and unchecked indiscipline.
“No serious politician should remain under a party where anti-party activities go unpunished,” he remarked.
While expressing confidence in APC’s current strength, Jandor warned against underestimating other political movements and coalitions, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
“The 2023 outcome—where Labour Party won Lagos in the presidential election—reminded us not to take any opposition for granted.”
According to him, the APC in Lagos is now more united than in previous election cycles, especially with Lagos4Lagos reintegrated into the party.
“In 2023, Lagos4Lagos was outside the APC. Today, we’re back. People are joining the party—not leaving. APC’s path to victory in 2027 looks clearer,” he said.
He added that Lagos4Lagos remains active in all 57 council areas and is fully prepared to mobilize support for the APC ahead of the elections.
