President Bola Tinubu is set to attend the 8th edition of the Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS) as the Special Guest of Honour. The annual event will hold from November 11 to 13, 2025, in Abuja.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, announced this on Friday during a press conference in Abuja.
Organised by NiDCOM, the NDIS serves as a platform to attract investments from Nigerians living abroad into key sectors of the national economy. Since its inception in 2018, the summit has continued to grow in scope and impact, drawing participation from government officials, investors, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders in sectors such as real estate, healthcare, agriculture, ICT, energy, manufacturing, and the creative industries.
Dabiri-Erewa disclosed that the 2024 edition of the summit generated investment deals worth ₦673 million across multiple sectors.
“The last edition, held in November 2024, attracted over 1,500 participants, including 236 investors, 1,197 business owners, and 168 government officials. A total of 56 business pitches were presented, leading to 168 investment deals valued at about ₦673 million,” she said.
She further revealed that the 2025 edition would once again have President Tinubu in attendance.
“We are honoured that His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, will again serve as the Special Guest of Honour. We expect the participation of prominent business leaders, diaspora investors, policy experts, and creative innovators who continue to strengthen confidence in Nigeria’s economic potential,” Dabiri-Erewa stated.
This year’s summit, themed “Fast-Tracking Regional and National Development by Mobilising Diaspora Investment,” will focus on harnessing diaspora resources to stimulate economic growth and regional integration.
According to Dabiri-Erewa, the summit has also contributed significantly to the local economy, injecting over ₦500 million through services sourced from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and the creative sector during previous editions.
She reaffirmed NiDCOM’s commitment to promoting key sectors driving Nigeria’s transformation, including finance and fintech, ICT, creative industries, sports and entertainment, agribusiness, healthcare, education, real estate, infrastructure, manufacturing, and energy.
