The Senator representing Delta North, Ned Nwoko has insisted that the medical reports circulating online about his wife, actress Regina Daniels, are genuine, despite the controversy surrounding their release.

In a statement shared on his Instagram page on Saturday, and signed by the head of his communication team, Nwoko addressed public confusion after one of the hospitals mentioned in the reports previously denied releasing the document.

Earlier, Serenity Royale Hospital, Abuja, had disowned a viral report claiming Regina had been treated for severe substance abuse. The report, signed by the hospital’s Managing Director, Dr. Adekunle Adesina, allegedly stated that Regina was diagnosed with a substance use disorder and placed on a home-based detox programme on September 24, 2025.

However, Nwoko’s new statement clarified that while the hospital did not publish or leak the documents, it did not deny authoring them.

“The reports are genuine,” the statement read. “The rehabilitation centre only clarified that it did not release the documents because medical institutions must protect patient confidentiality.”

The Senator’s team encouraged the public to read the full reports, saying they paint a clear and alarming picture.

According to the statement, both the toxicology test and the report from Serenity Royale Hospital showed high and dangerous levels of Marijuana, Cocaine, Morphine, Opiates and Alcohol

The statement also referenced another report from Nizamiya Hospital, dated October 3, which claimed Regina was brought in unconscious following a drug overdose.

“These facts are consistent and deeply troubling,” Nwoko’s team said.

The statement further alleged that Regina’s siblings hindered her recovery during rehabilitation. According to the Senator’s team, the rehab centre reported that her siblings saw nothing wrong with giving her alcohol and weed during treatment, making meaningful progress impossible.

It added that this interference is one of the major reasons she has been unable to complete rehab.

The Senator’s statement suggested that Regina’s current online behaviour is linked to her struggles, saying:

“Many have asked why the Senator insists on therapy. It is because several of Regina’s recent decisions are not coming from a stable or healthy place.”

He claimed Regina is currently vulnerable and easily influenced by people who exploit her, adding that she listens more to outsiders than to professionals or her husband.

Private attempts to help her reportedly failed, and given the severity of the substances detected and the emergency at Nizamiya Hospital, Nwoko said the matter can no longer be handled secretly.

Reaffirming that the reports are authentic, Nwoko stressed that the priority now should be Regina’s well-being, not public debate.

“Must we wait until Regina reaches a point of irreversible harm before supporting her to stop substance abuse and commit to rehabilitation?” the statement asked.

It added that the Senator is deeply concerned and simply wants Regina to regain clarity, stability, and be present for their two young sons.
He vowed to continue supporting her recovery until the children are old enough to guide her themselves.

However, PUNCH reports that Regina has pushed back against Nwoko’s claims. She admitted to past drug use but insisted it is not the cause of their marital conflict.

She accused her estranged husband of: Exaggerating her condition, Using the narrative to damage her reputation, Encouraging her drug use in the past and Isolating her by targeting her friends and family

The disagreement between the couple continues to unfold publicly, with both sides presenting sharply contrasting accounts of events.
