The Accord Party has expressed readiness to receive Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, as he considers a new political platform for his second-term bid in the 2026 governorship election.
Adeleke recently resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party amid a prolonged leadership tussle within its Osun chapter.
Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos on Wednesday, the Lagos State Chairman of Accord, Dele Oladeji, said the party offers a more stable and conflict-free structure for the governor’s re-election ambitions.
“We are simply waiting for his official declaration. Once he signals his intention, Accord is fully prepared to welcome him,” Oladeji stated.
He described Accord as a party without internal factions or godfather influence, noting that it provides a “peaceful and dependable structure” for any serious political contender.
“Accord is a stable and sanitised platform. We don’t have factions, and we don’t operate under the control of any godfathers.
“Anyone who joins us between now and 2027 can count on a reliable political base,” he added.
Oladeji further assured that if Adeleke chooses their party, members would work diligently to support his victory at the polls.
NAN reports that Adeleke, who is seeking a second term in the 2026 off-cycle governorship election, is exploring more stable political options ahead of the contest.
