Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Yewande Adekoya, has opened up about a miscarriage she suffered in 2013, describing the experience as a turning point that deepened her faith in God.
In an emotional video shared on her verified Instagram page on Saturday, Adekoya recounted how she was rushed to the hospital after experiencing severe bleeding during her first pregnancy.
According to her, doctors later confirmed that she had lost the pregnancy and informed her that an evacuation procedure would be required the next day, news she said left her devastated and fearful.
She explained that the emotional pain of losing her baby was worsened by her fear of the evacuation process, which she had been told was extremely painful. Adekoya said she cried throughout the night before eventually falling asleep after receiving medication.
The actress narrated that she had a vivid dream in which a man dressed in white, whom she described as resembling a doctor, told her it was time for the evacuation and carried out the procedure.
She said she woke up later in the night and felt a strong urge, prompting her to go to the bathroom, where the miscarriage completed itself without medical intervention.
Adekoya added that doctors later confirmed through a scan that there was no longer any need for evacuation, as the pregnancy had already passed naturally.
Reflecting on the incident, the actress said the experience reinforced her belief in God and His kindness, noting that while God’s ways may not always be understood, she believes they are purposeful.
She concluded that her personal experiences make it impossible for her to deny the existence of God, describing Him as faithful and ever-present in her life.
