Qatar Stars League side Al Ahli SC have officially announced the signing of former Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, in a move expected to bolster the club’s defensive strength.

The experienced centre-back joins the Doha-based outfit from Saudi Arabian club Al Kholood and has penned a contract that will see him remain at Al Ahli until June 2028. He has been handed his preferred number five jersey and is tipped to play a central role as the club pushes to end the season on a strong note.

Expressing his excitement over the move, the 32-year-old defender took to social media to share his enthusiasm.
“Next chapter! Happy to be here and part of the @ahliqat family!” Troost-Ekong wrote.

During his time at Al Kholood, Troost-Ekong made 49 appearances, scoring twice and providing leadership and defensive stability for the team. His experience and composure at the back earned him praise both on and off the pitch.

Al Ahli SC view his arrival as a significant boost as they continue to strengthen their squad and build momentum for the remainder of the Qatar Stars League campaign.
