Nigerian celebrity chef and food entrepreneur, Hilda Baci, has reached another historic milestone after being officially recognised as a three-time Guinness World Record holder.

The latest recognition comes from her September 2025 achievement, which Guinness World Records has now confirmed also qualifies as the largest serving of rice ever prepared globally in addition to the record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Baci shared the exciting update and proudly changed her bio to read “Chef X3 Guinness World Record Holder.

”Reflecting on the moment, she wrote, “Woke up a three-time Guinness World Records holder and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. What a way to step into 2026.”

According to an official email from Andrew Fanning, Head of Client Partnering at Guinness World Records’ Creative Team, her jollof rice feat had unintentionally broken two records at once.

“Congratulations, you are Officially Amazing (again)! It has come to our attention that when you and your team achieved the ‘Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice,’ you also simultaneously achieved the record title of ‘Largest serving of rice,’” Fanning stated.

Reacting to the unexpected news, Baci said the announcement caught her completely off guard.

“I was just going through my usual morning routine, casually checking my emails, when I saw the message. I was shocked and excited at the same time. Five months after the initial record announcement, I was just finding out that there was more,” she explained.

She added that what she initially believed was a single Guinness World Record had turned into two records achieved on the same day.

“When @ginonaija and I broke the record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, I thought that was the end of it. I didn’t know that we had also broken the record for the largest serving of rice overall. What I thought was one record turned out to be two and that officially makes three Guinness World Records for me,” she said.

The September 2025 feat saw Baci prepare a massive 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds) of jollof rice during a Lagos cookout, making it the largest pot of the iconic dish ever cooked anywhere in the world.

This latest honour builds on her earlier Guinness World Record set in May 2023, when she completed a 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon, becoming Nigeria’s first chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records.

Baci was quick to credit her team, especially @oreoluwa_atinmo, whom she described as instrumental to the journey.
“This vision and this record wouldn’t have been possible without her. From idea to execution, we did this side by side. Sharing that moment made everything feel real,” she said.

She also expressed gratitude to God, describing the achievement as a reminder that unexpected blessings can still unfold.

“God is faithful, the kind of faithful that still surprises you. Even when you think you’ve seen the full picture, God can still say, ‘There’s more.’ What a way to enter the new year,” she added.

Concluding her message, Baci thanked Guinness World Records, her team, and supporters worldwide.

“This is our win. Every long day, every detail, every push mattered. To everyone who supported and believed in us, my heart is so full, still grateful and still in awe,” she said.

With this latest recognition, Hilda Baci further cements her status as one of Nigeria’s most decorated chefs, using food to spotlight Nigerian cuisine on the global stage and inspiring a new generation to dream boldly.
