The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II), on Wednesday visited the headquarters of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Abuja to renew his diplomatic passport.

He was received by the Comptroller-General of the NIS, Kemi Nandap, alongside members of the service’s management team.

The visit was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Service Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, who said the monarch used the occasion to commend ongoing reforms in the immigration sector.

According to the statement, the Ooni praised President Bola Tinubu, the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the leadership of the NIS for initiatives being implemented under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He expressed appreciation for policies aimed at strengthening migration management, improving border governance and enhancing service delivery within the immigration system.

The NIS noted that the commendation reflects growing recognition of the Federal Government’s efforts to reposition the service through institutional reforms and modernisation.

In recent months, the service has rolled out several reforms, including the digitalisation of passport services, improved border surveillance and the restructuring of migration management processes under the supervision of the Ministry of Interior.
