The Osun State Police Command has arrested four men in connection with the theft of motorcycles in the state.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Gotan, the arrests were made with the support of local security outfits.

The suspects identified as Adeyemo Tunde, Adepinye Clement, Adewale Tosin and Useni Kabiru were apprehended during a routine security operation around the Oduduwa University roundabout in Ipetumodu, Ife North Local Government Area.

Police said the suspects were intercepted on January 22, 2026, and taken to the Ipetumodu Police Division for questioning. During interrogation, officers recovered two unregistered Lady motorcycles in their possession.

Further checks confirmed that the motorcycles had earlier been reported stolen from Iwara, a community in Osun State.

Investigations later led to the arrest of Useni Kabiru, who was accused of receiving the stolen motorcycles. The police disclosed that the suspects confessed to the crime, adding that discreet investigations helped in tracking down the receiver.

CP Gotan praised the collaboration between the police and local security groups, describing it as vital to the fight against crime in the state.

“The command appreciates the continued support of local security outfits in tackling criminal activities,” he said.

DSP Ojelabi confirmed that all the suspects have been charged to court and assured residents that the police would continue to intensify efforts to curb motorcycle theft and other related crimes across Osun State.
