The chairman of the Osogbo Local Government, Asiwaju Musa Oluwasegun Adegoke, on Monday led other members of his cabinet on sanitation exercise at the Ona-Baba Ona junction around Sasa area of Osogbo, the state capital of Osun.
The exercise was aimed at clearing the refuse site to prevent disease outbreak in the surrounding communities.
Hon. Adegoke, who used the medium to appeal to the general public to always live in a clean environment also advised them to ensure that waste management trucks are around before bringing their waste out.
He strongly condemned the act of dumping refuse on the road as it can lead to flooding.
The chairman promised to keep the council and its environs clean and also appeals to the residents of the area to also monitor and be on a safer side.
He also read a riot act that whoever dumps refuse again would face the consequences
The exercise was supported by the workers of department of environmental sanitation of the council.
Accompanying the chairman were the vice Chairman, Hon. Adelabu Serifat Abolaji, Leader of the House, Hon. Badmus Jelili Amelemero and all the Parliamentarians in Osogbo prime council.
