Manchester City have officially announced the appointment of Enzo Maresca as the club’s new head coach, marking the beginning of a new chapter at the Etihad Stadium following the departure of Pep Guardiola.

The Premier League champions confirmed that Maresca has signed a contract that will keep him at the club until June 2029 after both parties reached a full agreement.

The Italian tactician is expected to immediately oversee first-team activities and will also be actively involved in the club’s transfer plans ahead of the new season.

Maresca is no stranger to Manchester City, having previously worked alongside Guardiola as part of the coaching crew during the club’s historic treble-winning season. His return is seen as a move aimed at maintaining the club’s football philosophy and playing style that brought tremendous success under Guardiola.

The 45-year-old has earned admiration across Europe for his tactical intelligence and possession-based style of football, qualities City’s hierarchy reportedly believe make him the right man to lead the team into a new era.

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the development on X, stating that Maresca had already signed a long-term deal with the club and would play a major role in shaping the squad for the future.

Manchester City are expected to officially unveil Maresca in the coming days, with details regarding his coaching staff also likely to be announced soon.
