The Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally presented the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination form to its governorship candidate, Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The presentation ceremony took place on Tuesday at the party’s state secretariat in Ilorin and was conducted by the Kwara APC Chairman, Sunday Fagbemi.
The event drew party executives, stakeholders, supporters and leaders who used the occasion to reaffirm the party’s commitment to unity and preparations for the next electoral cycle.
Receiving the nomination form, Danladi expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC national leadership, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, party executives and grassroots members for the confidence placed in him.
He also acknowledged other aspirants who participated in the party’s primary election, describing the process as a healthy democratic exercise that produced a candidate through fair competition.
Danladi, who currently serves as Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, assured party members that efforts were already underway to strengthen reconciliation within the APC and build a united front ahead of future elections.
According to him, the party remains one family and would continue to work together toward success in the governorship, National Assembly and State Assembly elections.
He further pledged not to betray the trust reposed in him if elected and prayed for a peaceful and successful electoral process.
Earlier, APC Chairman Sunday Fagbemi urged members to remain disciplined in their public engagements, especially on social media, cautioning against statements capable of undermining ongoing reconciliation efforts within the party.
He stressed the need for members to remain focused, avoid actions that could deepen internal divisions and work collectively toward securing victory in the forthcoming elections.
The presentation of the INEC nomination form marks another milestone in the Kwara APC’s preparations as the party intensifies consultations and mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
