The leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos West Senatorial District have begun moves to strengthen the party’s unity and grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The leaders made the commitment during the Lagos West Senatorial District Leadership Meeting hosted by Ikeja Local Government, Onigbongbo and Ojodu Local Council Development Areas at the Ikeja Local Government Secretariat on Thursday.
The meeting brought together key party leaders and representatives of local governments and Local Council Development Areas across Lagos West.
Those in attendance included the Senator representing Lagos West, Idiat Adebule; Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin; Apex Leader of the APC in Lagos West and member of the Governor’s Advisory Council, Prince Rabiu Oluwa; Abayomi Finnih and other prominent party stakeholders.
The meeting focused on strengthening internal party unity, reconciliation and grassroots mobilisation, as well as strategies to secure victory for President Bola Tinubu, Lagos State governorship candidate Obafemi Hamzat and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
Speaking at the meeting, Adebule commended the large turnout of party leaders and stakeholders, describing it as a clear demonstration of the strength and commitment of the APC in Lagos West.
She urged members to sustain the spirit of unity and remain loyal to the party, stressing the need for collective efforts to secure Tinubu’s re-election and ensure victory for all APC candidates in the 2027 polls.
In his remarks, Oluwa called on party leaders to prioritise internal cohesion, discipline and effective grassroots mobilisation as the party prepares for the elections.
He acknowledged the progress recorded by the APC but noted that there was still room to strengthen its internal structures.
According to him, greater consultation, reconciliation and consensus-building would be critical to keeping the party united and focused ahead of the elections.
Also speaking, the APC Chairman in Ikeja, Adebowale Adetoro, assured the gathering that the party in Ikeja remained united and determined to deliver victory for all its candidates in 2027.
Adetoro said the Ikeja chapter had continued to strengthen its grassroots structures and would work closely with party leaders, members and stakeholders to secure what he described as a decisive APC victory in Ikeja and across Lagos West.
The leaders agreed that sustained engagement with party members and grassroots mobilisation would be crucial to the APC’s performance in the 2027 general elections.
