The national assembly election petitions tribunal sitting in Osogbo has sacked the lawmaker representing Ede Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Bamidele Salaam and ordered a rerun election into the selected units within the federal constituency.

Hon. Adejare Bello of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had challenged the declaration of Hon. Salam (PDP) as the winner of the election.

Salam, who represents Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo federal, is a member of ECOWAS parliament.

The court rules that there were over-voting in ten units in the constituency and thus, rerun should hold in all the affected units.
