The Member representing Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Bamidele Salam has approached the Court of Appeal to set aside the September 2 judgment of the Election Petition Tribunal that nullified his election and ordered rerun elections in 12 Polling Units of the Federal Constituency, Osun.life has reported.
Salam cited his 38 grounds of Appeal, which ranges from errors in Law, misapplication of Laws, clear bias where the Tribunal was making case for the Petitioner and wrong interpretation of the Laws and Guidelines covering election processes in Nigeria.
Insight Media has earlier reported that the 3-man panel tribunal sitting in Osogbo on Monday, September 2 nullified the emergence of Salam and ordered fresh poll in 12 units across the federal constituency.
Speaking about the Appeal, Hon. Bamidele Salam stated that “having carefully studied the Judgment of the Tribunal, we are confident that it cannot stand superior legal scrutiny and that is why we have approached the Court of Appeal. We are certain Justice will be done in this matter.”
“I have absolute confidence in God who has given me this mandate of service to the people. I am also confident that the Judiciary will do appropriate Justice in the matter. I therefore call on party faithful and supporters to remain calm as our mandate is safe by the grace of God”, he concluded.
